a date of significance to me. the day i joined bon-food (BK). the day that i was still questioning myself if i made the right decision in taking up this job. as days went by, i was constantly thinking if i will ever going to survive more than a month!

guess what? i survived! i completed 1 year of service! woohoo! it seems like just yesterday that i first step into my cubicle. thought i completed my first year quite successfully and definitely above my own expectation! so i am giving myself a pat on the back! :)

forgetful me

its just the start of the year, and dear forgetful me "decides" to lose another nice umbrella of mine in the cab!

of all days, i chose to bring home from work this umbrella i bought from the musical - little shop of horrors, on a non-rainy day. must be because it was black, it wasn't raining, it wasn't a habit of mine to carry an umbrella in my arms... so i must have just stepped out of the cab without it. obviously ever since i left kfc, i no longer have a habit to ask for a receipt, so i don't even remember which cab i took! plus i only remember like now...5 hours after... so i will just have to blame myself... :(

how time flies... another year just flew past in a blink!

as usual, this is the time we reflect back on what we did in the past year, if we worked on our resolutions and set new ones... so i went back to my blog entry dated 31 dec 2008 and realised that i did stick to some of my resolutions.

what i did:
- went to San Francisco to visit joce! yes i did! even went to vegas. it was a great 2 weeks trip! the trip also marked the first real holiday lil'c and i took together aside from the work trips!

- get it right at work... changed a new job in jan and had some doubts in the beginning but surprisingly i survived! will be hitting the 1-year mark in 2 weeks time! i have to say there are some accomplishment done at work. was pretty happy when my boss (2nd young master) sort of thank me during the last management meeting of the year! now i just need that to be translated to monetary reward! haha! where is my bonus?!?!

- be more patient.... i think i have learned to be patient at work... maybe it is the work environment (since the office is small and my desk is right at the recept!)... maybe being a boss is slightly different too (don't think i want to be a terror to my 2 girls!)

what i didn't do and should be doing for 2009
- start to save money... seriously, not sure what will happen in 2009. usually i try to save my variable bonus when i am in kfc. but this year will be harder without the 13th month, so keeping fingers on having variable bonus. otherwise, how to go for my trip in 09!

- take more buses and mrt - ok ok... i will do that more often. i'll try...

- learn a new skill - nope... not golf, not driving, not spanish... will get to it one day (i hope)

so that's my 2008 and here's to a better 2009 for me, my family and all my friends!
