first day in ulu land...

shifted office today... i was at the old office at tanjong pagar in the morning so i have not officially taken the morning bus ride yet to kaki bukit...

the place was still not completed when we went there... trust giving the job to the contractor because of his nationality ( my bosses' fellow countryman)... so in the end, i wasted the whole afternoon sitting at the table using my wireless...

decided to avoid the traffic a little by leaving at 7pm, doesn't help much... but the journey wasn't as long as i thot... board the bus at 7.05pm, reach my place at 8pm... so about an hour... i am more worried for the morning traffic jam, so let's see how tmr!

a hairy experience...

its my sister's birthday today and as usual, we celebrate with a good meal!


as mom has to work in the afternoon, we had to take early lunch, and decided to go tung lok at vivo city... instead of our usual dim sum, we decided to try the seasonal hairy crabs from jiangsu! this will be my first hairy crab experience! amongst the 4 of us, only the birthday gal had tried it in shanghai before... so we decided to go for it!!

love the roe... thats the reason to eat hairy crabs, not the meat... but it is tiring to eat the crab... the meat has to be dug out etc... it was a good experience... at least i finally tried it once! haha... my biggest bill at tung lok so far... $316 for 4 pax! my birthday treat for my sister... so hope my sis enjoyed the meal!

last wedding of the month...

attended the 3rd and final wedding for the month of october...


the bride is an ex-colleague that we got close in the recent years even after i left the company... was glad to be able to be of help to her... help her with the montage of the video as well as photo co-ordination at the dinner... really happy for her... congratulations mountain turtle!!!

fustrations!!!

tmr is my official 3rd month into the new job... what i have gotten out of these 3 months is nothing but fustrations!

* fustrated at myself for not having much to do at work... i know... many of you would love to have a day or two like that... but trust me, when it happens like 4 out of 5 days, you will be bored to tears and start to doubt yourself... i feel worthless... and it is a terrible feeling... so different as compared to last time, when i am always in control...

* fustrated at how bosses make decisions... strange decisions... in 3 months... there were change in restaurant concepts, there were price changes (not once, but twice), there were change in business directions, and many many more... it is not 3 years but 3 months... didn't they think it through before they start the business... (apparently... no proper market research was done, just their own survey of their community to decide to dump in the money to invest!)

* fustrated that i no longer have the drive and passion to fight for what i believe... it doesn't work here... tried in the first month, then i realised i am fighting a losing battle... its so not me... now i am like a doormat... easily stepped on...

oh well... most of my readers alr know my fustrations at work... just that today wasn't such a good day... not agreeing with a lot of stuff my bosses wanted... now, it is just a job... just get it done.

let's hope there are things to cheer me up like tonight's Champion League's game (Liverpool must win), my sisters' birthdays (1 tmr and the other on sunday - happy birthday gals!) , my sister's interview (good luck!), SC's wedding on saturday. see, there are happy thoughts!

jen's wedding

today is jen's big day... went to both the church wedding and the wedding dinner...

always like attending church weddings... it is always very simple, sweet and romantic... easily touched during the ceremonies... with the hymns (hehe... love singing them), the exchange of vows, the simplicity of the celebration of a couple's love... what to do, when you are not planning to get married, you go to other's weddings!!! maybe get so inspiration if i ever get to realise my dream to be a wedding planner!

thot i should finally get my fav fastfood breakfast this morning before i shift to ulu land... since i was early, i was happily walking into my office, 5 minutes before the start of my official work hour, greeting my colleagues in a chirpy tone until i reached my desk... an empty desk greeted me!!! shit! i forgot to bring my laptop to the office! what a klutz!? anyway, then the chirpy day took a dip... took a bus home then a cab back, and by the time i took my breakfast, it was alr cold :( thank god my coke was still gassy and cold (really needed that after rushing to and fro)

haha... that's silly me for the day!

limited venue

from my earlier postings, many of you would know i have plenty of weddings to attend this month...well... there is also the partying - hen's nite!

together with R, i organised SC's hen's nite last friday at clarke quay's gotham penthouse... yes... the same place we went for G's hen's nite (was it last yr or the yr before??)... then just got a call from SL for Jen's hen's nite tmr at .... GOTHAM PENTHOUSE!!!!

our poor little island has so nothing much to offer... even ideas for hens' nites are extremely limited... if i really want to be a wedding planner, i must start to working on new ideas man!!!

anyway... will get the photos of the hen's night before i post abt it!!! a preview... there were booze... hunks... and a bride that got high!!!

love is in the air

attended the first wedding of the month yesterday night at Marina Mandarin. Congratulations to KN, who looks amazing and it was a great wedding...

it was quite funny as i was super sensitive to the music used... her 1st march in song, the 1st dish entrance song, her 2nd march in song etc... dun get the wrong idea... its because i am helping SC with her selection of songs... so trying to get so inspirations... besides, everytime i hear so nice love songs, i will mark it down for SC to select! hehe... always making small steps to be a wedding planner...

with all these lovey dovey weddings going on this month, i should feature my precious moments figurines in my posting this month...

yest was also like a gathering date for me. glad to catch up with my ex-colleagues WL and CA and our dearest budninny was missing again... not contactable... we wondered if she forgotten about the wedding! then JT was also at the wedding as he was KN's diving kaki. and before the wedding, i met up with 2 of my ex-bosses who i respected... so yesterday was an eventful day...

how many crazy collectors are there?

i wasn't prepared for a crowd... never knew how chaotic it can be... well, it will most likely be my first and last precious moment event!!!

ever since i joined as a member, i have never attended any of these events. well... this time, it was for a launch of the disney figurines. so i decided to pay $150 for the event which include buffet for 2 and the opportunity to purchase limited editions figurines and a goodie bag including this event figurine...

what pissed me off was the mess and how disorganised the event was! there were supposed to be 3 timeslots: 10am to 12pm, 12pm to 2pm & 2pm to 3pm. i signed up pretty late so only managed to get the last time slot. however, when i reached there at about 1.45pm, all i saw was a long snake queue... no sight of figurines! armed with a price list, i asked a staff before i realised that the figurines are displayed in the middle of the room (obviously blocked out of sight by the human queue). After looking at what i want, i was supposed to tick the price list before queuing to pay. the queue took ages to move an inch. i managed to locate the staff from bugis that i am familiar with, she told me that the queue includes those people from the 1st 2 timeslots!!! i don't blame the guy behind me to complain non-stop. we thot it was pretty unfair, coz for people like me that got the 3rd slot, i paid $150 for a event that might not guarantee me to buy any figurines of my choice (if sold out, then too bad), no time to go for the buffet (coz i had to stay in queue for the figurines) and end up wasting more than an hour in the queue!!! gave that feedback to the staff that i knew. anyway, i finally managed to get the figurines that i want (except the winnie the pooh that was sold out :( !!) anyway, i found out why it was such a screwed-up event... they used the same event company that screwed up my d&d when i was in the committee!! haha... i saw that events organiser there and she recognised me! anyway i think they should sack their marketing person and hire me instead! haha... maybe got staff discount!!!
well... even though i complained that much, i still forked out more than $500 on figurines!!! shucks... i will be so broke this month with all the birthdays and weddings and this bill...
