my last memory of kfc...

today i went to do my cny grocery shopping at ntuc, so i brought along the remaining of my ntuc vouchers from my 5 years long service award...haha... seems so long ago... anyway, spent almost all of the vouchers already...

just found out where my boss (大少爷) hangs out during the weekend! haha... had a meeting with one of the media owners, and the sales person was actually his contact. at the meeting, she openly talked about "bumping" into each other regularly at butter (factory). thot it wasn't very professional of her but oh well, thats how life is lor... pull strings if you need to!

steamboat week...

its an overdose of steamboat this week!

on wed, i met up with my ex-colleague WL from FES and went to M Hotel's The Buffet for steamboat. as usual loved the drunken prawns, had the soup special of the month - winter melon with chicken soup... had a great time catching up especially since both of us started our new jobs. btw, WL got me a really cute winnie the pooh musical box from disneyland hk. she commented that the only down side was that eeyore was not featured. hehe.

on fri, i got invited by my ex-boss to her promotion dinner. hehe... yes... i know... MY EX-BOSS? haha... think we deserved the treat mah... afterall, i slogged hard for 5 yrs to help her build the brand. so thick skinned right? anyway, the dinner was at The Mushroom Pot at Stadium... nice wild mushroom soup base, thou the herbal would have been nicer i think! ate so much... instead of catching up with ppl i have not seen, but i think i spent more time chatting with ppl that i have been in contact like my best mate n her other half and my god daughter! hehe...

then today, i went to office to do spring cleaning! yes... only been there for 2 weeks, yet i have piles of thrash to clear (more like other ppl's thrash)... was there from 9.30am to 3.15pm. i was famished (didn't take breakfast, not even a sip of water) when i met my sister at tiong bahru. looking at the time, we decided to have my meal for the DAY! so we walked into... rajan inn - individual steamboat!!! haha... yummy... so that's my lunch, tea and dinner!

well... in a way its healthy food... soup based, not oil in cooking, all natural! haha!

man problem...

sigh.... just into my second week of work, i got the first bomb.

my marketing assistant tendered his resignation today... my first reaction? was it because of me? well, he felt he doesn't suit a marketing job, so he is joining the govt sector doing a admin job. actually, a few HODs has been telling me that he is too quiet to be in marketing and he seems detached too... sigh... such a failure right - can't even keep my staff for the first time being boss!

1 conclusion? think guys are not that suitable for marketing? haha... not many of them survived at my ex work place, and here too... barely here for 1 month. sigh... or are some of us that tough to survive in this industry for years...

my first...

hehe... attended my first management meeting today... damned stress before that... my colleague told me that marketing is always the one being "shot" at the weekly meetings... basically if sales don't came in... it is always marketing issue!!! so everyone reminded me to get my "bullets" (promo trackings) ready!

stepped into the meeting room on 16th floor (that's where my chairman and directors are based), really nervous... it was different from the management meetings i used to attend. maybe because its a totally new environment, new mgt to report to, new expectations... its only my 3rd day at work... but everyone seems to expect me to know everything already...

anyway, i had to do up the current promo trackings... feels like the good old mondays where i had to rush promo trackings for my ex-boss to report for management meeting. cannot delegate cause my team have not done trackings before, so don't know what to look out for. oh well... just need to get the hang of it! haha!

no connection to the real world...

started work today... had 2 meetings, handovers, lots of things to read up etc!!! stressed!!! on my first day, my inbox was alr flooded... my staff started forwarding everything to me!!! but guess although i am a bit stressed or overwhelmed with the amount of things that are thrown at me, i am glad that i am no longer bored at work!! definitely have lots to catch up.. better be able to pick up fast... especially since everyone knew i was from kfc... haha... must live up to expectations!!

oh... the demoralising thing at work? msn is barred!!! can't log in... :( will try to log via the web tmr if i have the time. so my dear readers... leave me a comment if you can't msn me! haha!

congrats to marc & lynn

after 2 bachelorette parties, lynn's wedding is finally here!!

was called to be her 姐妹, so had to be at her place at 6.45am. i was so worried that i will be late that i couldn't really sleep well... jerked up almost every hour!!! haha!!!

i was the key master... haha... so hold on to the keys... played a few sabo games... and i must say these ACS boys (oops... men i mean) are sporting... so they played along with the balloon game (to spell "i love lynn" with twisted balloons), sang 月亮代表我的心 loud enough for lynn to hear behind close doors and from the ground floor (singing in chinese for ACS guys... a chore!!), the striptease show by marc! didn't know you can make $$ from this!! haha... like charging for lyrics, balloons and power for the fan!

the church wedding was so sweet... as usual... i am such a sucker at weddings... the most touching scene was when marc choked (hehe... better way to put across instead of cried!!) while reading his vows... aaaawww...

lunch at conrad was yummy... both the bestman and maid of honour gave great speeches... marc's speech... another touching moment... seeing how much he appreciated his family, i think lynn really chose the right man.

today is my last day at work....

quite different from the last time i quit my job...
- handover was the fastest ever for me... 20mins only... plus only verbal, dun even need written document
- no tears at all... but been chirpy from the moment i stepped into office... quite different from the last time - cried from retreats to last day at office... such a loser then
- quite a quiet day for the email too...not much of the farewell emails from colleagues, suppliers and friends as compared.
- no last minute clearing of work and table... so little things to pack... just 2 paper bags...

well... have to go to bed soon... got to be at L's house at 6.45am... help to sabo the groom!

blogging? haha... yes... with not much to do, i could log in and blog or check out my facebook or surf the many sites... hehe...

not sure if i will have the luxury at my new work place... not just the time, but also the culture... maybe no msn even!?!?!?! oh well... just enjoy my last 2 days of boredom...

concert whore?!?!

yipee! bought my tickets for maroon 5 concert!!! woo hoo! think that will be my first concert of the year (if nothing pops up in between!)! took a while to find a kaki. R - thanks for going with me :0)

oh... here's the story of the title of this posting... one of my friends saw my msn nick asking for kaki to the maroon 5 concert. she msn me about it and were discussing about the concerts we attended in 2007 (we both went for some of the concerts, and only knew after). then she laughed and called me a "concert whore"!!! saying that i went for so many concerts - international acts, asian acts, pop acts, evergreens... had a good laugh, but it was so true!!!

so i decided to tracked back what did i watch in 2007:
- Eason Chan (FOC from my ex-workplace)
- Rain (also FOC tix, but most expensive to date!!!)
- Grasshoppers (haha... retro hor)
- Jacky Cheung (almost thought it will be his last concert, but he came back again within 6 months!)
- Gwen Stefani (it was really really one of the best!)
- A-mei (another solid singer and concert!)

i think 2007 was a year i spent the most with sistic bookings!!! haha... and the above excludes all the musicals/plays etc... i wonder if there are more acts coming to singapore this year? haha... my yearly budget should have a concert/musical budget! hehe.

the countdown begins...

my last week at my current workplace!!! counting down every day till friday!

i can't say i am super excited about my new job, but i am looking forward to a more challenging and busy work life! even till now, i am really not doing much at work... gosh... the hours passed so slowly... i even wonder why they want to keep me here for 2 weeks... to surf the net? haha!

well... i wasn't that keen to even start on my handover or is there even any to be done... completed all my filing today... maybe i will start to type a few lines of my handover! haha!

packed weekend...

i haven't been that busy for a weekend for the longggeeessstttt time!!! i had "double bookings" for both saturday and sunday!!!

saturday, 5 Jan:

- had a secondary school gathering at merchant court hotel. it was pretty amazing that we managed to get connected again via... yes... the famous facebook!!! from the news or conversations with friends, i realised many people are getting in touch with old classmates, childhood friends, ex-colleagues etc via facebook... i must admit, i haven't been in touch with many of my secondary school friends except 2 of them... of which, 1 is in shanghai and and the other - LF, we only meet up with the other when our common friend from US comes back! so much for keeping in touch. it was awkward at first, but when we started talking about the good old days, it was pretty fun...
- went to zouk for LF's bachelorette's party at zouk... haven't been to that place for years and now i know why... felt old there!!! haha... they were playing house music, not my type at all. but basically just had fun to celebrate her last week as a bachelorette! after sending LF off (her hubby-to-be came to pick her up), a few of us went to clarke quay (yes... we had to bring the tourist there!)... we just had supper at TCC...haha

sunday, 6 jan:

- attended a wedding of an ex-colleague... caught up with many of different batches of colleagues. such nostagia... it was always a great opportunity to meet up with people at weddings..
- had to rush to catch beauty world at esplanade after the wedding... to be honest, i wasn't having high expectations before the show... the main lead was relatively new, and the preview we had during one of the charity show... that was bad!!! however, my opinion changed after the first act... her solo performance of "i didn't care"... her voice was good... quite a steady performance too... so if you have plans to go and have yet bought tickets... i think you should go!

now... home and happily loading pictures on facebook!! haha!

its official

i finally put my signature on my new appointment letter yesterday evening at 6.03pm. no regrets now... no more buts... so i tell myself i must just brace myself to accept whatever new challenge that will be thrown to me!!!

anyway, i saw my new department colleagues and my work station (read.... work station, means i am fated not to sit in a room!!). the space is even smaller and more cramp than my current and ex work place. oh well... like mermaid said, the office is small but in prime location (in orchard mah)... so i am sitting on more expensive land! haha...

newsy new year

just the first day of work, and i heard so many news today (from current workplace, ex-workplace, friends etc)

- someone got promoted
- someone is going to quit
- someone got asked to go
- another friend just gave birth

too much to handle for the start of the year! haha

new year... new beginning

when the new year starts, you always look forward to better things ahead...

well, i am pleased to announced that i will definitely have things to look forward to! i have officially tendered on 31st december!!! yes... i will be changing job again after 5 months... keeping my fingers crossed that it will be for the better and longer! haha... i don't consider myself a job-hopper... but i just felt the need to move on... all my friends must have been bored by my constant complaining of no work to do / change of direction by the management time and time again... so when this opportunity came along, i take it as a sign that i should really moved on... although many people gave negative comments abt the company i will be joining, i think there are other pull factors... so pray for me ya? i need to all the luck to succeed!

after years of marketing chicken... i will be moving on to the burgers from 2008! haha...
