had part I of my store training today... my back and legs are aching!!!
super tired... this was definitely more tiring than the kfc store training... think i had it easy then... this time round, i really work a shift from 8am to 5pm, from breakfast to lunch! breakfast was still ok, but i was really a wreak during peak lunch time! somehow i felt that i was a hindrance to the crew instead... haha... but the crew and managers said i picked up fast! haha!
really admired the crew now... there are so many products, so many builds, different procedures, different warming time, different amount of ingredients... haha... whose fault? the marketeers! lol! but now i think i can work as a crew if i decided to quit my day time job!
part II tomorrow... the night shift, the counter and dining area duties! wish me luck!
Weird Blog title? Nah... Just wanted a space to write about my two fave activities - Travelling and Football! But after so many postings, I realised that food is one of the most talked about topic in my blog!

sign of achievement?
i finally received my letter for my confirmation yesterday!!! yipee yey!!!
getting confirmed was a sign of meeting expectations at work? what was happier was getting a slight increment upon confirmation. i know... most of you will be thinking, so what? well, it was a pleasant surprise to me as i had actually negotiated for my pay package when i joined and was told by HR that there will not be any salary adjustment upon confirmation. so even if it was a 2% increase, i was pretty happy! at least, that means my bosses must be pretty happy with my performance to give me an increment when they don't have to.
just the week before, i got praised by my chairman during my management meeting! hehe... quite happy coz it was the first time! so i guess, i am happy for now.

walk in the rain
woke up early this morning and the sky was dark with a drizzle. was keeping my fingers crossed that the rain will stop by noon. it didn't listen to me and the rain became more rebellious and started to pour heavily by the time i left the house!!!
why do i want the rain to stop? coz i was going for the heartstrings walk by community chest with my company. it was compulsory for the support centre partners and the store managers. was a bit sian to go at first, but it was quite fun after all. guess since there aren't many events here as compared to my ex company, this was quite a good chance to bond with my colleagues! i must finally learn to get myself attached to this "family" that i joined for 7 months! haha!
so i braved thru the rain and did my exercise for the months (notice the s!!! haha!) by walking 2.5km from padang to parliment house to esplanade and back. its also for charity as proceeds from the registration goes to community chest. just too bad that it rained coz there was a carnival with games and food stalls and stage performances. but everyone was so tired and wet after the walk that we just took our goodie bags and left.
so here are some pictures to remember the event... more on facebook! hehe.

busy busy saturday
saturdays are my usual r&r days... but yest i was kept busy... hehe...
the day started with dim sum lunch buffet at zhou's kitchen with the nyp gang. it was our celebration for cw's birthday. it was great catching up with the whole gang as it gets harder to gather all 5 of us at 1 time! in the end, cw had to share the limelight with danielle (g's gal)! hehe... she was basically amusing us too. we ate lots! especially tried almost all of the desserts. too much to eat that i didn't take any pictures of the food! hehe.
then i had to rush home for my "date" with the tv! the new season of the bpl (barclays premiere league) starts last night! that means the weekends of the next 9 months will be filled with excitement from the pitch miles away in england! so friends, pardon me if i might need to arrange our weekend plans according to liverpool's game schedule!

the 2 stars - the birthday gal n the little one
a group pic after quite some time!
everyone was so full yet i proceed to another makan session! had a company bbq session at one of my colleague's place. was supposed to be at east coast, but they changed the venue as someone superstitious was concerned on having a bbq at the beach during the lunar 7th month! there was so much food around! from chicken wings, stingrays, squid, prawns, satay, corn, sweet potato, salads etc! then for the first time, i actually played mahjong by the swimming pool! haha!

second chance
ever since my first taste of the donuts from donut factory when they first started a couple of years back, i haven't taken a second bite... didn't like the dough, and that is the key to determine if the donut is good. always remembered their glazed donut - eeks! so i could never understand why there were queues in the past! so thank god for the opening of other donut players like donut & donut, j co etc!
just realised that donut factory opened another outlet at tiong bahru plaza. so since i was at tiong bahru this evening, and since my sister has not tried their donuts before, thought it is time to give it another chance. but this time round, i didn't get the glazed since i alr knew it would suck. the verdict? its another disappointment. i confirmed the reason why i do not like it - the dough! its dry in texture, leaves an oily after-taste and just not what i look for in the dough. but the toppings are not too bad, not sweet, but it wasn't enough to make the it a good donut. that's the verdict!

its a girl!
haha... nope... no one has given birth... its just that i've finally hired my new executive and its a girl!
well, actually i decided on the guy candidate, but he rejected the offer because of $100!!! haha! i didn't want to back down because i felt that he doesn't have that much experience to justify for what he ask for. besides, i offered him the amount he asked for upon confirmation. he replied to my HR was: "i am sorry, but i have my own expectations too."
so, the first runner-up has taken over the crown and her term will start from monday! let's hope i made the right hire! keeping fingers crossed!!!

difficult choices
my schedule at work is packed this week...
i am conducting interviews to find a replacement for my Marketing Exec... this is an important decision i will have to make.
should i choose:
- fresh grads or people with experience.
- female and male
- worker or talker
someone told me that this time round, i will not be able to blame anyone if this candidate does not work out as i handpicked her/him. :)
