thanks for the memories

didn't get to write a longer post in the afternoon since i was just trying out mobile blogging!

anyway, was feeling nostagic these days and little things will trigger me to miss my good old friends and the happy days! well, 6 years ago on this very day - 27 June 2002, i started my first day of work at kfc. this is the day i got to work with a great group of people and most importantly, these colleagues really turned out to be great friends. a few days back, when i told lil'c that its our 6th anniversary, her first thought was "did we even celebrate it before?". my answer to that, you never feel the need to commemorate this day when we see each other everyday in kfc, but now that we are out of there, i really missed those bond we had, the times we shared.

so this morning while msn-ing lil'c, both of us decided to have lunch to celebrate this day (we were also sian at work!). she popped by to orchard since i have a more rigid lunch hour and we decided to have lunch at harry's and ordered lychee martinis! our drinks were more expensive than our lunch! although the drink wasn't that great, the food was good and we had a good time! lil'c also bought me roses! so sweet! thanks dearie!

This is fun! I am blogging w my new handphone! Met lil' c for lunch at harry's to celebrate 6yrs of friendship! Had to post 1 pix at a time thou!

goodbye my love

after more than 3 years... i am bidding my beloved k750 goodbye!

haha... this is one of my longest serving handphone since the first i owned back in 1998... an ericsson 628... most of my phones lasted me for 2 years... usually change my phone the moment my contract is up. my other phones tends to give way at about the same time too... never been that brand loyal for handphones... from ericsson -> nokia -> motorola -> nokia -> sony ericsson. my sony ericsson k750 must be my best buy for phone so far. really loved the look and the functions.

never like slide or flap phones, so i have been waiting for the right phone to come along. last night, i saw the sony ericsson c902 tvc on channel 5... then read mermaid's blog on the phone she was planning to get... so i thot it must be a sign for me to go take a look at the phone. it must have been the fastest handphone purchase decision for me... haven't really look and played with the phone, then just decided to buy it. key deciding factor, it was so new that there were no brochures, no proto-type at sony ericsson shop, hello shop and m1 shop in tiong bahru. haha! guess it must be my mourning for holland's lost early this morning. needed something to cheer me up... so now, introducing my new love -> c902

gss temptation

yes... i succumbed to the temptation of the gss (great singapore sale).

haha...robinsons/m&s was not charging gst for 4 days, this was on top of the discounted prices! so went to beat the sunday crowd by going to centerpoint at about 11am... it was my sis who wanted to look at shoes... i ended up with 4 pairs! 1 more pair than my sis... and some are quite different from my usual shoes purchase... i bought my first pair of white shoes! gasp! yes.. white!!! wanted the black at first, but unfortunately they do not have my size :(

also bought some bedsheets and one top... then followed by m&s... bought 2 dresses (from $160 reduce to $50 with further reduction of gst). haha... haven't been shopping for a while, so quite happy with my purchases!

that's how i will be starting the work week with a much lighter wallet!

work family

i was up early this morning despite a late night (watched holland defeat france 4-1 till 5am). made my way to east coast for bk's family day.

its the first family day since 12 years, so it was supposed to be the biggest event of the company. anyway, you must be surprised that there are no pictures... the reason, nothing memorable to even take pictures... the ppl that i am closer with came and went off pretty fast... didn't want to be hang around my 2 girls (haha... didn't want to get irritated on a weekend)... so once again... i felt like a loner... so un-me...

the only happy thing that happened... my morning breakfast with lil' c and ms j! almost didn't want to break up the nice chat we were having...

guess that's the amazing thing abt human relationships... while you can make really good friends with colleagues that you treat as family, you can also take colleagues as purely colleagues...

sweet saturday night

didn't have time to write a super long posting yesterday as the opening match for EURO 2008 was starting while i was typing it! haha... so here's the continuation of my saturday...

went to watch quite a different sort of play at esplanade yesterday... its a british mime-play dark comedy - "between the devil and the deep blue sea" it features 9 short stories... it was really different from the usual plays that i watched... a bit difficult to describe, but it was an experience i enjoyed. as usual, let the pictures do the talking (and i haven't been doing montage for such a long time!)

as one gets more mature (refusing to use the oxx word, in denial haha), more gatherings are revolved around kids... newborns, 1st month parties, 1yr old parties etc... this afternoon, it was an all-kids events at woodlands!

Y, mom of my god-son, gave birth to her second child on tuesday 2 Jun. as she was discharged the following day, decided to visit her at home during the weekend instead. baby janel was sleeping when i reach her place. apparently she looked just like her brother when he was young...

after that, E, G and me proceeded to another of our classmate's house (also in woodlands) for her daughter, alyssa's first birthday party. met some other classmates there as well, so i was commenting to one of them that we seems to meet up only during kids parties!

ok... got to run now... EURO 2008 just started like 5mins ago!!! catch a zombified me for the next few weeks... hope i have the energy to watch the late nights matches like i used to... this is a test for my body and mind if it was any difference after the big 30... haha!

memories of universal studios

so sad to read about the fire blazing part of universal studios in LA today... it brought back some great holiday moments! especially when i am dying for another long break, long flight, far far away from work!

so i dug out some of the pictures i took during my trip... sigh... i missed holidaying!!! especially time alone (yes... i went to universal studios on my own!). all these are just memories from now on... :(

a walk on the bridge

sunday mornings... i am normally sleep in late... at least till 10am... this morning, i got dragged out of bed at 7am!!! my sis and her colleague decided to go for a walk at the new bridge near my place and insisted that i join them...

so i got dragged out of my beloved bed with the sky threatening with the sound of thunder and slightly dark clouds. at 1 moment i thought there is a slight chance of me getting back to bed! haha! yes... its lazy me...

anyway, the walk did happen... started out at mount faber, then walked towards to the henderson waves - 1 of the stops of the super long bridge... lots of people were there to try out the new trail and there was even a wedding couple taking photos on the bridge. then we continued with the forest walk from telok blangah hill before embarking to the start of the metal bridge of alexander arch...never felt happier to finally see the arch... then after a breather, the nightmare continues as we now have to walk back uphill to mount faber to get back to aq's car!!! haha... anyway, they estimated that we walked more than 7km... faints! such a accomplishment for a person who haven't exercised except for walking the stretch of orchard road! went for breakfast after the walk and got home near 11am... after a long bath and reading the papers, i was so tired that i took a nap from 12.30pm to about 5pm!!! now, my legs are aching from the walk and that's how i spent my sunday!

during fri's gathering, rl wanted to continued the night with a karaoke session. but it didn't happened as everyone else decided to call it a night... so this afternoon, i received a sms asking if i want to go ktv!

anyway, i had made earlier plans to meet ah dee for dinner at vivo... she wanted to go there to buy her new toy... something she saw from another of my ex-colleague... her new toy became the object of our amusement at ktv! lol...
