good old memories

its finally friday again... happiness!!!! especially since i have mgt meeting this afternoon... so definitely appreciated the chance to leave at 6.30pm sharp on a friday night!!!

i started my weekend with a slow walk from liat towers to centerpoint to meet up my ex-colleagues for dinner. definitely brings lots of good old memories again, chatting and laughing throughout dinner. out of the table of 9, there are 3 of us on the dark side (hehe... the exes) and 1 ex student attachee. so it was fun to get updates and reminise on good old days like retreats etc... its really great to catch up once again!

tonight, i finally closed the last chapter of the story of my 4 fav gals in new york. hehe... yah... they are just fictional characters, but i did spend my past few years watching their fictional fabulous single (most of the time) life on dvd... when season 6 ended, it was almost like a happy ending... then i kept hoping for more...
so finally the movie has arrived!!! another chance to see carrie, samantha, miranda and charlotte... enjoyed the movie... i won't say it is a great movie, but i am sure all SATC fans will enjoy it... at least now we know it is finally over, time to get over it and keep all great memories as part of my dvd treasures. of course, i will take that out once in a while to reminise good old times...

btw... found this as a promo pic for the movie, but it was not in the movie!!! did it get edited out?

p.s.: i am so sure i will buy the dvd for the movie to really complete my collection!

different pace

yesterday, i went for 2 shows that are totally different in pace...

watched "accuracy of death" with RL, the show was nice but a little too slow paced during the middle. almost fell asleep for a short while but still think the story was quite good. it linked 3 short stories together and 金城武 looks really good in the show! haha...

continued the day on the fast mode! went for a quick dinner at food republic before proceeding to take a cab to indoor stadium to catch harlem yu's concert. our cab driver sped a little as we told him we are going to be late! haha...

anyway, the concert was good... he was really high! enjoyed the performance from the ballads to the rock songs, from the early 1980s to the 2000s. i actually knew most of the songs!!! unfortunately, the singapore crowd disappointed again. its a case of great entertainment, totally high, but not reciprocated by the crowd. esp the 2 girls next to me, i think they are "dead". imagine paying $141 for a concert ticket, they didn't sing along, they didn't move, they didn't clap after each song (when the whole crowd was cheering) and the worst - she even crossed her arms while watching harlem pranced around! well, anyway took some pictures and videos (too bad i can't share the videos here... its illegal right? haha!)

movies, movies, movies

as most of my close friends know, i hardly spend money to go catch movies at the cinema... simply because it is getting expensive, didn't have much time in the past, and it is always crowded!!!

but within these few days, i've watched and plan to watch quite a few!!! watched "what happens in vegas" with my sis and her colleague on sunday night, then caught "made of honour" with mermaid and xiao beng. planning to watch "accuracy of death" this weekend and of course, the long awaited "sex and the city"!!

looks like i will be visiting the cinemas pretty often this month!

its the start of the long weekend and all i want to do is rest and relax...

slept in late today, about 10.40am! haha... its the weekend entitlement, plus i need the sleep since i am catching the flu bug right? lol! anyway, today's agenda will be watch tv, play computer games, surf the net, msn and "nua" all day... sounds very familiar - just like most of my weekends! lol!

was supposed to meet a long-lost secondary school friend for lunch, but she has to cancel last minute, so i guess it will be another rest and relax day. only have plans for monday then. lunching with some friends... will update after that...

TGIF finally!

can't find the reason why i am extremely happy that the weekend is here!

couldn't get myself into the work mode today! haha! i was msn-ing in the morning, then surfing the net in the afternoon. lol! that's not the only things i did... i did attend meetings and get some actual work done. just not in the mood. maybe its because i haven't been feeling well for the past few days. first the cough, then the bones ached and finally the nose (started sneezing this morning). so even though physically more sick, but feeling better... strange huh? is it because its a friday leading towards a long weekend?

entertaining weekend

i am well entertained this weekend... quite a few things to keep me occupied...

sat - spent the afternoon watching tv (ok... that's my normal relaxing activity on saturdays) then went out at about 6pm for a quick dinner before proceeding to catch "broadway beng 3". my virgin "broadway beng" show! haha! although i always wanted to watch it, what holds me back is the worry of not being able to understand majority of the jokes... you friends know my understanding of hokkien is almost zilch!!! (ok lah... now much better than before i join kfc!). anyway, since my sis was planning to watch with her colleagues, decided to tag along to finally catch the much acclaimed local production! it was quite a last minute decision, so our seats were at the last row of the theatre!!! first time i am seated so "high" up from the stage, but since it is a stand-up comedy, it wasn't that bad...overall, the show was not bad, enjoyed the 10mins hokkien version of "sound of music" best! lol! but somehow i didn't laughed the most in this production. maybe expectation was much higher, but still enjoyable.

after the show, proceeded to holland v's crystal jade for mothers' day dinner (or supper?!?!). hehe. both mom and bro-in-law had tight schedule, so supper seems to be the best option. with limited venues to choose from, decided on the 24hours crystal jade. ordered a 4pax set meal instead of the promo mothers' day meal. it was half the price and at least i eat all the dishes! here's the scrumptious meal... but i must say, the presentation standard dropped by quite bit! maybe my expectation is higher after being pampered by tung lok! haha!

sun - going for another production today... "jacques brel is alive and living in paris". its a musical cabaret with songs by the belgian singer... featuring emma yong and george chan, it should be entertaining!


tonight is also the last game for the epl season 07/08... so while everyone is concern with who will win the title, i will just want to watch the last game of the season for liverpool! after the game, must get back to reality that the weekend is ending :(

trying new dough

haven't been to bugis for a long time and so it was my first visit to the new basement... its starting to look the same for all the malls... my sis commented that it looked like another raffles city. haha.

anyway, something new that i decided tried - D'ough Culture. it like a twist to donuts... has 2 types of dough. the soft buns - more like donuts stuffed with custard and offered more flavours. the crispy crullers - it is 油条, or fried dough fritters, so it is more interesting and different, but less offerings (only had 4 flavours when i was there)

the verdict? its not too bad, but i think the crispy crullers are nicer than the soft buns... still prefer donuts in a way... or maybe because it has custard in every piece... let's hope there will be more flavours for the crispy crullers! :)

a first

i had my first after office hours outing with my colleagues. it was organised by my recept, to go clubbing! surprisingly, the group that went are mainly from finance! haha, but then again... most depts in my company are 1 or 2 man show except finance.

anyway, went to central for dinner before we proceeded to pump room at clarke quay. didn't know that jive talking was performing there. so was it fun? well, i am sitting in front of my laptop at 1.25am... it just tells how early i came back! the place was actually nice, songs were good, not a bad crowd... but guess it was not the right ppl that i went with... at 11am, a few of them decided to go to MOS, the rest of us stayed behind till 12.30am. lucky there was an ex-colleague from KFC and coincidentally ex-BK staff who was there too. so i ended up catching up with him! haha!

so gals... we should organise a clubbing session soon! my feet are itching!

next season pls

at 5am this morning, i let a sigh out and went to bed with a heavy heart...

yup... it was 3rd time lucky for chelsea, and it sort of marks the end of the season for my beloved liverpool with no title to its name. just 2 more league matches... but the results won't really affect the table. so 07/08 was just not the season to remember except for the strokes of brilliance from torres.

trying to be positive here... i can just look forward to a better season come august! if we kept the momentum like how we started this season, think we have hope (fingers are crossed)
