Weird Blog title? Nah... Just wanted a space to write about my two fave activities - Travelling and Football! But after so many postings, I realised that food is one of the most talked about topic in my blog!

sick on sunday
what a way to spend my sunday. woke up feeling alright. then out of blue at about 11plus in the morning, i suddenly felt a chill and started shivering, feeling cold inside me. didn't even have the mood to eat the lunch my sis bought. took a panadol and wrapped myself with a blanket and quilt with no fan or aircon! yes... on a sunny sunday... slept for almost abt 2 hours and woke up feeling better. not cold anymore, but still aching... sign of the flu. so slept again at about 4 plus... hoping to get better... have a busy monday ahead... can't afford to feel sick :(

weight loss
weight loss 1: today, i lost at least 1/2 kg!
don't worry... i didn't go for any diet. and obviously i wouldn't have exercised too! all i did was go for a hair cut! haha! yes.. finally after 7 months... my hair was getting out of hand. too heavy and takes too long to dry in the mornings! have been thinking of going for a hair cut for the longest time, never really got to it.
so since i was watching the preview of nim's island at shaw centre in the morning (btw, the movie is good and fun... go watch it when it opens on 1st may... especially for those with kids, think the kiddos will like it), i might as head down to shunji instead of making another trip on other days.
weight loss 2: my wallet lost some weight too...
sucker me got convinced to do a cosmic treatment which removes the fizziness and soften my hair. it has the same procedure as rebonding, just different using different products... that's according to my stylist. that cost $350... faints... then came the products... the shampoo, the leave-in conditioner and another treatment stuff... so my total damage... $573!!! never spent so much money and time (4 1/2 hours!!) for my hair! guess i have to start eating bread the next few days! haha!

SUNny day...
sunny day, sweeping the clouds away....
...can you tell me how to get, how to get to sesame street!
hehe... guess every kid from my era onwards should be quite familiar with this song... the opening song of sesame street! why did the song pop up in my blog? i attended LY's baby 1st birthday party today and it has a sesame street theme... i must say i am very impressed with LY. how motherhood will change someone. we joked that she became more techy now for the sake of her baby. going online to purchase party decor, her self-made invitation card etc... well done LY!
well... someone else took most of the pictures, so here's just those that i took...
the cute birthday cake! top tier is kids friendly triple chocolate, bottom tier is adults friendly lychee martini!
the happy family! happy birthday geng yeam!

culinary experience
was invited by UFS (one of my supplier) to one of the culinary masterclass session of the world gourmet summit...
it was my first experience to such an event, so it was an eye opener (though i didn't think the chef was too comfortable in presenting)
today's guest chef was Chui Lee Luk, a Singapore borned chef now running Claude's in Sydney, Australia. she specialises in french cooking while combining asian influence to it.
the 2 dishes she presented were confit of fish, oyster & black fungus sauce and eggplant custard with yam bean salad. just too bad that i can't stay to try the food as i was rushing back to office :(
here's the pictures...

high and low end of chinese cuisine
haven't have much to update for the week except yes... liverpool is thru to the semi-finals of champions league after a thrilling game against arsenal! woohoo!
so what's up this weekend? more food bites for this blog! haha...
planned for dimsum with my family on saturday... yes.. its at tung lok again... it was pouring heavily and the usual great view of sentosa was totally gone...
because of the weather, i suddenly felt like drinking soup. so we ordered a set lunch which included 2 timsum and some dishes. ate so much that it was able to last me till really late night (yup, didn't eat dinner!) here are some of the yummy dishes...
lotus root soup - one of my all-time favourite soup
banana prawn fritters and 腐皮卷 on the background

moving on... we went for our grocery shopping after lunch and saw prawns on offer. so suddenly decided to make some dumplings for sunday. haven't done that for a while, always feel tired during the weekend. just quite wasted that i couldn't water chestnuts, so lost the crunchy feel to it.
the finished product
the cooked 水饺/shrimp dumplings
this was my dinner - homemade 水饺面

anyone remembers NKOTB!?!?!
omg! NKOTB is back for a reunion!!!
for those not in my era, NKOTB was like THE biggest boyband in the late 80s to early 90s! my teenage crush! haha! btw, NKOTB stands for "new kids on the block"! was surfing the net late last night then came across a video on their first appearance announcing their reunion! (sorry, not that savvy to download the videos here! but this is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7V3zLSNjYc).

gosh... it has been 15 years, and boy have they changed!!! they are apparently back with a new album (to be out soon) and reunion concerts in US. did the spice girls reunion inspired all other bands to come out of retirement? lol!
i actually went on youtube to search for their mtvs... gosh...i couldn't believe it that i could still remember the lyrics of almost all their songs... it just brings back great memories of my school days... buying smash hits for their news and posters, keeping lyrics and pictures in a dedicated NKOTB notebook, wrapping our files with their posters!!! haha!
anyway, no videos here, but some screengrabs for sharing... carol - doesn't this bring back memories!!!
the dance on the steps!

the very young joey with a really high pitch!
this was the exact song/white shirt/solo performance of jordan knight that made me gaga! i can still remember the concert - my first ever back in 1991!

unexpected fame
received lots of emails and calls today to congratulate me! i have my few seconds of fame, depending on how fast you read!
marketing magazine called me yesterday and asked a few questions. within hours, my so-called interview was up and sent out as in its daily interactive e-newsletter. from ex-colleagues to current work partners, from media owners to suppliers... suddenly everyone remembers me! haha... that's my short-lived glory :)
