a new life...

in a at 1542 hours, i received the news on the arrival of baby Ethan Ng

CONGRATULATIONS to my boss, SY!

went to the hospital to visit SY and baby Ethan this evening. when i took my first look at baby Ethan, it finally hits me that the "bump" we have been seeing for the past 40 weeks has finally came out to see us! it is really amazing to see how this new life came to meet us... been through SY's anxiety, happiness, constant hunger pangs, occasional memory lost etc... always remember how happy i was for SY when she told me the good news at Changi Airport while waiting to board the plane. it seems like it was yesterday that SY was puking away at KK, and now, i could carry baby Ethan in my arms... he is really adorable and he responded to us by opening his eyes to look at us, and smiled when we teased his dad. maybe my arms were good cushions due to my fleshyness, or he found my voice familiar since i was talking to his mom all the time at work! SY - you are really blessed with this child! Take good care of yourself during your maternity leave!

class of 97

how time flies... it has been 10 years since i graduated from poly. thanks to ADV for organising our class reunion. finally managed to catch up with some old classmates! ADV even put together an album of our photos taken during our 3 years in school! how all of us changed! i for one put on so much weight! but most of us are so different now...

of the group, there were 2 mothers, 3 preggies, 1 married but not preggie, 1 going thru divorce and 3 singles. of course... i must first congratulate G! you are going to have a piggy baby too! she is like the 6th person i knew that will be having a baby this year... i will have to start saving lots of money for ang pows!

side note to G, dun worry so much... i know you are still trying to accept the fact that you are pregnant since knowing it 3 days ago... but i know you will be fine... especially with Y being able to give you advise... enjoy your pregnancy ya? can't wait till you find out if you have a baby boy or girl!

glad to meet up with everyone, hmmm... makes me wonder if i should start organising so gatherings for my ex-colleagues, uni classmates etc...will see...

all night long...

i have officially not slept for 38hours and 41mins!

was up the whole night trying to complete my presentation deck for this morning's briefing. it was one of those days that everything can go wrong will go wrong! from simple task like taking out a staple from the papers, i actually poked the whole staple into my flesh. the cut stills hurts now. then after 3 hours of hard work on creating my presentation, it somehow mysteriously closed without asking me to save it! so i lost my file at 9 plus at night... feeling fustrated, i left the office to continue to work at home. so after a late dinner, i was stuck in front of my laptop from 10.30pm to 3.15am working on my presentation. all along, i wanted to do a "feel good" video for the brief. all the research and collection of materials for the video was done weeks ago, but i never had the time to start on it. since there was a Champions League match - Barcelona vs Liverpool at 3.30am, i decided to try and get it out within 3 hours! it was an accomplishment that i managed to get a 5-minute video out by 6.30am!

was still pretty awake and perky in the morning (nope... no kopi from kopi soh). went thru 1 of my longest brief and most lor-soh too. was glad that everything turned out well. it was most encouraging that the last minute video was well-received by the bosses (who were gamed enough to let me show a video that they have not seen!), the restaurant managers (some asked for copies for keepsake) and also the creative guys (ok... maybe they were being polite since i am the client). but hey, i give myself a pat on the back! i have to say i almost single-handledly got the show going today! oops... forgot my boss does read my blog! haha.

ok... zonked out since after lunch... maybe my body knew that the "work" is completed! still counting down to sleep... so nite for now...

days of non-stop eating

although i could not go visiting during the first few days of CNY and no ang pows till date, the feasting continued right at home...

since my mom is only home for these few days, reunion dinner is the only time i get to taste her cooking... so had the traditional dishes like lotus root soup, prawns (to have a happy year ahead), steamed fish (for a year of abundance), my favourite black moss with dried oyster and mushroom or "fatt choy ho si", stir fried vegetables and roast duck from "dian xiao er" that we ordered a week ago...

next morning breakfast was the new year goodies that i bought way before the incident, and some from mom. since no one could come to our place, we have to find a way to finish all these...

as we played mahjong the whole night and since there was no need to go visiting, mom slept a little later. so we ordered KFC and Pizza Hut for lunch... yes... i know... i can't believe it myself... had to wait till dinner to get to eat mom's "zhai" or vegetables stew. she usually cooks a big pot enough to keep for 2 days!

today, the breakfast menu remains the same... lunch was "zhai" and dinner was steamed fish, broccoli and prawns in oyster sauce.

that's not all, i was snacking on new year goodies or mandarin oranges in between meals... i was practically munching non-stop! oh dear, i hope i could fit into my clothes tomorrow when i got to my boss's place! hey... at least i am enjoying 1 part of the holiday!

first of all, let me thank everyone who showed me concern during the past few days... it has been hard for me trying to juggle my duties as a mourning god granddaughter and as a marketeer with many deadlines to meet.

thanks to V, for offering to send condolences blanket to the wake... really appreciate for your thoughts.

thanks to my immediate boss, for covering things that i couldn't do in time for the past few days and worrying for me as well.

thanks to SC, SQ, MC and those who sort of knew abt my god grandpa's passing on and offered me words of condolences

thanks to J. Neo for sending me another bouquet to cheer me up... hehe...since she claims that it is not a belated valentine's day bouquet...that was really sweet...

valentine's day

obviously not a day to celebrate for many reasons...

firstly... my god grandpa is no longer around... so it is not a time to celebrate

secondly... me have no boyfriend to celebrate with! haha... but i did receive a rose (those expensive long stem rose)... and it is from an unexpected person... my CEO! Haha... this is to compensate us for having HOM meeting on this day! hehe... but quite sweet lah... since he gave to everyone, including the guys!

oh yes... we received a box of delicious looking* cupcakes from my ad agency! that was a real sweet surprise... here are the pictures... full of sugar sweetness to end Valentine's Day!

a little prayer...

here i am,
sitting in front of my laptop,
can't do much,
except to say a little prayer.

for my god grandpa,
who is in the hospital,
being unconscious,
and the doctors asking us to be prepared,
all i can do is to say a little prayer.

it's been a few draining weeks,
physically drained with many late nights at work
mentally drained with too many issues on my mind,
and now another worry adds on,
praying to god to let everything works out fine.

before i sign off, i pray to god to bless my family and friends good health.

no life?

i was given permission to go to work later today since i had quite long days during filming for the past 2 days... slept till about 9.30am (actually my sis woke me up at 6plus thinking i had to wake up early again today)... started working by checking my emails and checking creatives almost immediately. went out to approve the DI jobs from 11 plus then back to the office by 1.30pm...

so much work to clear that i stayed on all the way till 12.30am! ended up working even longer hours! yes, more than 12 hours! maybe due to the past few late nights, i could even stay pretty awake later in the day. actually, thought i was more efficient after everyone left. with no phone calls and lesser emails, i could get some of my work done... on these on a friday night! totally no life! at least i have the auditors to keep me company! haha...

anyway, i am still awake at 2.10am now... will have to go catch a short nap soon... my supplier will be bringing colour proofs for me to approve at 5am (hopefully)... feel so bad that so many people is working late like JT and Ah C to rush out my job... let's hope everything turns out well!

its finally over!!!

no... i wasn't in a secret relationship that no one knew... wrong guess too if you thought i quit my job...

my very first (previous campaigns were joint campaign with Malaysia so i was not in involved in the actual shoot) thematic campaign's still shoot and tvc shoot is finally over! a total of 4 days were spent smelling like my restaurant... normally we will only take 1 day each for the still and tvc shoot. however, as this is such a major campaign, we had to shoot 2 days for still and 2 days for tvc. furthermore, these shoots started real early... i had to get in at about 7.30am or 8.30am for most days... and last till past midnight! the tvc shoots were the most tiring as it was done for consecutive 2 days... ended the first at 2am then call time was 7.30am for the second day! I was almost konked out... hope i haven't been sprouting nonsense at the shoots. haha.

back to the office tomorrow... more nightmare awaits for me... more deadlines, more reports, more fustrations (haha). oh well, at least it is a friday tomorrow, then it will be a weekend again!

better go catch some sleep now... dreamland is awaiting for me!

a heated monday

nope... the weather is still as good and cooling... it was my temper that was heating up today!

has some issues with a supplier, who screwed up on timelines, worksmanship, and also credibility. anyway, we then decided to have a heart to heart talk to them and gave them an ultimatum to revert by 5pm otherwise i would cancel the order. obviously when more excuses came along at 5pm... i blew my top! seriously yelled at them over the phone and felt my face heating up! when i put down the phone, everyone was asking what got me so heated up... haha... guess those people who hasn't seen me "whacked" agencies before will be frighten by me!

oops... another strike off from my list of things to take note for the year (not resolutions as i re-emphasize again)... patience is not something i am good at!

woohoo! hear the lions roar

yipee! woohoo we won! the Singapore lions are the champions!

super happy for team Singapore. they really fought hard against the Thais. from the start of the game, it was never easy for the lions. imagine the stadium packed with enthusiastic thai fans in their royal yellow... and obviously with the controversy from the first leg... the atmosphere was way too hot! we could have taken the lead should the goal in the 8th minute was not disallowed. even when we were 1 goal down, the lions fought on and got the all important goal in the 81st minute... the game ended 1-1, and we won by a 3-2 aggregate! yipee once again!

I have no life!

wondering why there aren't any postings since the 25th? basically there is nothing much happening in my life to update and have been quite stressed at work the past week! sorry faithful FAN of mine... nothing interesting to update leh...

well, since i have 1 faithful reader of my blog, i should just share some thoughts (just to have a posting!!!! haha)

its 2 1/2 weeks more to Chinese New Year... there is no sign of anticipation to the festive period. maybe i dragged for it to arrives as i am slogging hard these weeks to get meet all the timelines before Chinese New Year... I haven't met up with my poly group since Y's birthday celebration on 5th Jan! haven't even spoke to any of them on the phone! my days were spent at office, or home or at shoots! didn't even want to step out of the house on weekends... this is no good... even if i don't look 30, i think i behave and feel like one old maid!

oh well... let's live one day as it is... all friends reading my blog... ask me out... I need to have a life! haha!
